Conditions: Sunny and Dry.  Pitch Firm. 

Attendance : Binfield supporters - 16.  

Binfield Torpedoes : Angus, Billy, Jamie, Josh, Michael, Ollie, Seb, Steven.  

A great day out in Wooburn Green, the team played really well at this tournament winning all 5 of their group matches only to come unstuck in the semi - final. Fortunately the boys' first game was not until 2.45 p.m. which was a good job as 25% of the team and 50% of the management got themselves lost in the Chiltern Hillsand had to be guided in. A mixture of "Its a Knockout" and the "Krypton factor" managed to assemble a very complicated gazebo with speed and precision !  

Binfield 1 : 0  Penn. - A good start against a lively opposing team. Michael had an early chance with a good volley from Steven's cross, then had the ball in the net only for the ref to disallow the goal. Good play from Seb, Billy and Josh kept the pressure on. Ollie was tackling as usual and Angus got in a vital block at the last minute. Jamie, with potential broken foot, had little to do, but was slightly confused by the goal kicking rule !  The game was finally settled as Steven broke through to score with a great left foot finish.  

Binfield 2 : 0 Loudwater. Another great team performance. Michael opening the scoring cutting in from the right to shoot past the keeper. Great link up play between Steven and Billy put the ball through to Seb, who cut the ball back for Josh to slot home. Jamie tipped a rocket of a shot onto his cross bar and over for a corner. Billy hit a powerful shot just wide and Ollie and Angus fought hard to keep a clean sheet.  

Binfield 4 - 1 Holtspur A.  This was Seb's game, but not before Steven had raced through to score a great opener. A good counter attack from Holtspur levelled the score and this was looking like a tough match. Seb then scored a coolly taken goal after good work from Billy and Ollie. Seb's second goal was the best of the Tournament. Fantastic quick passing between Steven, Michael and Josh put Michael clean through on goal who squared the ball for Seb to side foot home. Seb had the chance of a hat trick but his shot was well saved. Angus got another vital tackle in to stop a good attack.  Michael got the final goal somewhat luckily direct from a well taken corner. Jamie made a good save from a long shot.  

Binfield 2 : 0 Thame.  Jamie made a great dive at the feet of the attacker to stop a goal.  Ollie was playing with confidence going forward and played a good one-two with Steven. Josh produced a great tackle in midfield and released Steven who ran from the half way line to score. Seb and Billy were battling in midfield and Angus was clearing the ball well. The game was made safe as Michael received the ball, did a neat turn and quick shot to fire home.  

Binfield 3 : 0 Holyport.  Seb opened the scoring in the first 30 seconds finishing off a goal keeping error. Ollie and Angus pushed forward to help in attack. Josh and Michael combined well to set Steven up for a shot that flew into the net. Billy was rewarded for all his hard work as he got his deserved goal, slotting home from close range after more good work from Josh and Seb. Jamie saved a certain goal with a good block and tipped another shot round the post.  

Semi final -  Binfield 0 - 2 Holtspur B.  Having played some scintillating football in the group stages the boys fought hard but looked a little tired in this game. Going down one nil to an early goal this was always going to be a hard game. The boys tried hard for an equaliser but were caught on the break. No medals but plenty of ice creams.
